Honoring Simone Mailman & Featuring Keynote Speaker Paul Tudor Jones II
Teaching Matters invites you to join us as we honor Board member Simone Mailman as our 2025 Champion of Education. Simone has embodied the spirit of Teaching Matters for nearly a decade through her unwavering commitment to educational equity. She has provided strategic guidance and thoughtful leadership as a Board member, Nominating Committee Chair, and member and former co-chair of the Chairman’s Council. We are privileged to honor Simone, whose passion continues to open doors for tomorrow’s leaders while inspiring all who work alongside her.
The Luncheon will also feature Paul Tudor Jones II as the keynote speaker. Paul co-founded the Robin Hood Foundation in 1988, with a mission to elevate New Yorkers out of poverty through partnership with high-impact organizations. Teaching Matters is deeply grateful for our longstanding partnership with Robin Hood and honored to be a continued grant recipient. Robin Hood’s transformational support seeded some of our earliest work in early childhood literacy and remains instrumental in our continued expansion and growth.
About Teaching Matters
For over 30 years, Teaching Matters has been a catalyst for change in the education landscape. With a mission to close the opportunity gap for under-served and marginalized students, we are transforming classrooms and shaping a future where every student, regardless of zip code, has access to exceptional teaching.
We have worked with over 2,000 schools, coaching more than 50,000 students, ultimately impacting over 750,000 students. Our influence is evident in the success stories of our partners. Through our support, these schools have seen remarkable improvements in reading and math scores. Our early literacy program has propelled pre-readers to become confident readers, and our math initiatives have surpassed national averages in student growth.
