I’m a 2nd grade teacher at a Title I school in the Bronx, and I’ve been teaching in the DOE for the past three years. Every day, I see the disparities firsthand that exist within our education system. But I also see something else — something powerful. I see the incredible difference that great teaching can make. Teaching Matters helps provide teachers with the tools and training to create effective, culturally responsive classrooms, helping close the opportunity gap for students who need it most.
